2025 Formula 1 Driver Comparison

Learn about the performances of each driver in the F1 2025 season.

Introduction

Formula 1 is the highest of international, open-whele, single seat racing. It is the peak of motorsports, where the most miniscule of differense can decide championships. Fans often wonder who the best driver is. Is it the one with the most career points, podiums, or points per race?

This website uses Formula 1's official 2025 driver dataset to examine all your questions. You can explore the full dataset, individual driver summaries, and walkthroughs on how you can create your own analysis.

High Level Takeaways

1) High Career Points doesn't mean they are the current best. While high Career Points do demonstrate driver longevity and time in the sport, it isn't an accurate reflection of current skill. More experience drivers will have had more opportunities to score, making their Career Points higher.

2) Points Per Race is a great way to compare current driver skill. By dividing the driver's Career Points by their total GP Entered, it becomes far easier to compare drivers with different levels of experience.

3) Reliability and speed are equally important. A driver with a ton of DNFs can appear very inconsistent despite the fact that they are increidbly fast, this is because DNFs erase scoring chances, making it difficult to calculate a risky driver's true skill.

4) Rookies have their own evaluation requirments. Since they have competed in fewer races, rookies should be judged by their current points, strong finishes, and low DNFs rather than raw totals.
